Thank goodness for Desi. This is my first thought when I think about my move from Portland OR to San Diego CA.
As a Caretaker, I moved from San Diego to Portland to help care for my good friends elderly Mother. When Joey passed at the age of 99, we were left with a houseful of 62 years of memorabilia & a garage full of boxes from San Diego.
I met Desi at one of my garage sales. I was impressed with her knowledge in antiques & collectibles. In conversation, I ended up hiring Desi to help me go my boxes from SD. I explained how long it would take me to go thru just one box due to me reminiscing with every item. I needed an objective eye & that is exactly what I got. What would have taken me months, she did in a few days. She categorized what she thought I should keep but also allowed me to feel comfortable with what she thought I no longer needed. The results I got allowed me to trust her completely.
When the house sold, that gave us a few weeks to get things cleared out. I once again hired Desi to help me pack.
In the meantime, my friend was having real challenges moving out of his childhood home. Recognizing this, Desi, Heidi and Desi's husband Mike all came to help. Desi’s understanding of social media opened up a whole new category of potential buyers. She spent countless hours helping us pack and sale. She knew the timeline and helped to keep us on track.
What I appreciated most about Desi was she genuinely always seemed to have our best interest at heart. It’s hard when you have to move, but it’s even harder when you have to let go of a part of your life. Desi took control of the whole situation (exactly what we needed) and she was a natural. The most important thing at the time was, we needed help. Desi gave us peace of mind with favorable results.
Thank goodness for Desi, truly the Queen Bee of our estate sale.
